What does a private investigator in Israel do?

A private investigator in Israel gathers information and evidence that a client cannot gather alone, and does it within the law. Did Sherlock Holmes exist in real life? If you did not know, the famous book series from the late 19th century was based on a real person. The character represents a private detective who solves complex cases and affairs.

The role of the private detective still exists today, in the form of the private investigator. Many Israelis need to gather information about a particular person and cannot do it themselves. So the investigator works as a detective and collects relevant evidence that can solve the case, or lead to proof that matters in court in certain cases.

Advanced technology in private investigations

When looking for a private investigator for your case, it is best to turn to a professional with quality technological means for investigations, such as advanced audio systems, audio equipment for various investigative purposes and video equipment for gathering details.

Installing miniature cameras during a private investigation

One way to reach the information a client needs is by installing miniature cameras. They allow the client to receive reliable information that can serve as proof at a later stage of the investigation. How can you be sure the investigator will not be discovered while installing the cameras? So that the investigation is not harmed, it is best to work with experienced private investigators who know the safe methods for installing miniature cameras.

Can my case be handled by a private investigation?

To get an answer to this question, turn to investigators who operate under a license from the Israeli Ministry of Justice. A professional and experienced investigator will know how to guide you toward your goal and give you the information essential to your case.

A private investigator license: what does the profession require?

For the investigator to start working, you need to set an initial meeting and present your case in full.

Setting an initial meeting to start the investigation

At the initial meeting you can present your case to the investigators and state the goals you want the investigation to reach. It is important to get information from an experienced investigator and decide which direction you would like the investigation to take.

To set an initial meeting with a licensed and experienced investigator, you are welcome to contact Sherlock Quality Investigations, which has provided personal, professional service to its clients for more than 51 years.

A private investigation into infidelity

How can infidelity by a spouse be investigated privately? Infidelity is one of the subjects that comes up in private investigations.

In these cases, one side wants to find out whether the other is in a relationship outside the marriage or outside a steady partnership. Because infidelity is usually carried out in secret, a private investigator is needed to uncover proof that confirms the suspicion. That proof can be uncovered through lawful surveillance of the suspected partner.

A new relationship in later life

Besides investigating infidelity, private detectives are also used in new relationships in later life. A new partner is a wonderful thing for an older person, but it is worth checking who the person in front of you really is, the one who wants to build a relationship with you. Many older people reaching retirement have built up property, provident funds and savings over the years.

To help protect all of this, it is best to check who the new partner really is.

Gathering business information

One of a private investigator's roles is gathering business information. It matters in many cases of competition, or of a claim by one company against another. If you are looking for a private investigator to gather information about a business or company, you are welcome to contact Sherlock Quality Investigations, located centrally in Ramat Gan.

Private investigators in Israel

A private investigator in Israel must hold a private detective license issued by the Ministry of Justice.

Most private investigators in the country operate with a license, but a small minority do not, and that is well worth checking before you hand your important investigation to someone.

How do you get a private investigator license in Israel?

A candidate must work as a trainee in a private investigation firm for 3 years, under the supervision of the firm's manager, who has received approval from the Private Investigators Department at the Ministry of Justice, which operates under the Private Investigators and Security Services Law, 1972.

At the end of the training period (or at least after half of it), the trainee must pass an exam, and only passing it allows the coveted license to be issued. Anyone who has worked in investigations for at least 3 years in the Israel Police, the Military Police Investigations unit or the Shin Bet, and presents proof of this, is exempt from the training period and can receive a private detective license after the exam alone. The license allows the investigator to gather information and evidence, but only within the law and by legal means.

Remember that a private investigator often needs to present the evidence gathered and documented in legal proceedings, and evidence obtained illegally may be disqualified and ruled inadmissible.

Can a licensed detective offer investigation services to the public?

Surprising as it may be, the answer is no!

Even after receiving the license, the investigator must continue working, as an employee or as an independent contractor in an investigation firm, for 5 more years, and only then can receive a license to manage an investigation firm. In other words, only after at least 8 years of hands-on experience can a firm's owner advertise publicly as offering investigation services and take on investigations for clients.

The manager of Sherlock Investigations, for example, Moka Kriger, has been a private investigator for decades, and is glad to give his clients the benefit of his knowledge and extensive experience in investigations and intelligence. Most of the work of investigators in Israel is concentrated in the center of the country, especially Gush Dan (Greater Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Givatayim, Rishon LeZion, Holon, Bat Yam, Petah Tikva) and the Sharon area. That is why Sherlock's offices are in the center, in an accessible, convenient and discreet location in Ramat Gan. The firm is active throughout Israel, and also has special expertise and extensive experience in carrying out investigations abroad.
